On the occasion of the World Conference against Racism, Racial
Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, being held in
Durban, South Africa, from August 31 to September 7, 2001, Human Rights
Watch has published a photo essay on the situation of Haitian immigrants

in the Dominican Republic.

The photographs, taken in Haiti and the Dominican Republic this past
