Dear Steven,
I have no idea--the ones I'm talking about are cultivated for sale in 
supermarkets etc. in the US. I imagine it could be done anywhere--I wasn't 
recommending mushroom compost as a model, however, just mentioning its 
availability and use. Any aged manure could be used--I think the aging 
removes toxic matter.  nancylaleau
