9858: Haiti: Senator Christopher Dodd joins others for release of funds to Haiti (fwd)

On Tuesday, December 5th, Farah Juste, the Fanmi Lavalas representative in 
Miami, told Radyo Pep La that during Saturday's meeting, held in Griffin 
Park, between Senator Christopher Dodd of the Senate Foreign Relations 
Committee and distinguished representatives of the Haitian community in 
Florida, Senator Dodd voiced his opposition against the current U.S. policy 
of blocking U.S. and international funds and loans to Haiti.  Senator Dodd 
vowed to join with other members of the U.S. Congress and Senate to pressure 
for the release of humanitarian funds to Haiti, particularly the 146 million 
dollar loan being withheld by the Inter-American Development Bank.
