The third week in March, I am going to New York for the first time, to
visit a friend in Brooklyn.  This, to me, is more terrifying and courageous
than my first trip to Haiti, since I live alone in the back woods of
northern Idaho.

So I am looking for suggestions for places to go, things to do.  I'd like
to see Haitian art, eat Haitian food, speak kreyol, meet interesting
people--in short, have experiences and adventures, but also be safe.
