From: J.David <Jedidiah@lyalls.net> To my knowledge, most haytians do not SPELL the word voudou at all. These are differences of french and american english spellings. There is no difference in the pronunciation of southern american 'voodoo' and kreyol 'voudou'. The english spelling could just as easily be 'vudu'. Jimmy Hendrix spelled it "Voodoo Chile" as in, child of voudou.
