Subject: HAITIAN-AMERICAN SOCIETY OF POETS
Corbetters,
This has been quite a few weeks in the life of fellow Corbetter, E. W.
Vedrine.
On May 8th, he was presented with a plaque to honor his many years of Haitian
Creole Research at a joint meeting of the Haitian-American Society and the
Negritude Society at UMASS-Boston.
And, even though this was "his day", he used his speaking time to encourage
Haitians to work together and support the work of one another, as they
support the nation and support the nation's "mother tongue".
I was there. He lifted high the work of Windows on Haiti and REKA and all
other entities (even MIT2) who are "fighting the good fight".
Now, it looks like Emmanuel will be speaking at a meeting of the
HAITIAN-AMERICAN SOCIETY OF POETS, here in the Boston area. See the
announcement, which is pasted in below.
