- Basic Plan for unit five: In the next three weeks we
will carefully read and consider the work of Ron Miller as an example of a relatively
radical contemporary educational theorist. The reading schudle will be:
- Week 1: March 20-25th: pages 1-56.

- Chapter 2: Education in Early America: 19-37.
- Chapter 3: Education in The Modern Age: 38-56.
- Week 2: March 26-April 1: pages 57-120.
- Chapter 4: The Holistic Paradigm in Education. 57-73.
- Chapter 5: Pioneers of Holistic Education. 74-98.
- Chapter 6: John Dewey and Progressive Education. 99-120.
- Week 3: April 2-8th: pages 121-139.
- Chapter 7: Imported Holistic Education. 121-139.
- Chapter 8: The Education Crisis -- 1967-1976.
- Chapter 9. Education For The Twenty-First Century. 153-159.

- Assignments for the Miller-unit. The assignments below are
done by week. In sum they will equal a possible 1000 points, as is so with the other main unites.
