a1076: a1013: Evangelical Christianity's lucrative, anti-Haiti/racist stupidism (fwd)

Jean Saint-Vil <jafrikayiti@hotmail.com writes:

<<In the good name of Jesus, please take a look at how some shameless American Christians are using this "pact with Satan" propaganda:

http://www.bli.org/default.asp?p=3Dprojects&rec=3D9

"The pact with Satan had been renewed every year until 1997, when a large group of Christians, after believers all over Haiti had fasted and prayed for 40 days, marched onto the Bois Caiman site. The voodoo priest hid as Christians confessed their nation's sin, repented the evil deeds, and cleansed the place. Since that time, those wishing to renew the pact have
failed and voodoo's hold on Haiti has been weakened as many Haitians are turning to Christ.">>

How far do they think they can get with these lies? (By the way, some of the original articles on AHP and elsewhere discussing the Protestant invasion of Bwa Caiman are on The VODOU Page, under the section Vodou and It's Role in Haitian Politics.) "Stupidism" is actually a very good term, they are deliberately refusing to face reality, tell the truth, deal with the world the way it is, respect the existence of others...

And naturally they want you to give them money without them doing any work for you, that's how they are.

<<"In response to a possible invasion by U.S. armed forces, Haitians countered with the threat of a voodoo curse against American troops...">>

Well, they did! Military puppet president, Ol' Emile Jonassaint invoked the lwa Agarou! That's how he got the nickname "Agarou", and he carried it until he died. He invoked Agarou, not against the US but against the UN interventionary force, and lo and behold, the first part of the intervention came... in the sky, in thundering aircraft which dumped leaflets, remember? If he had invoked Dantor, the first UN soldiers on the ground would have been black female weapons specialists. If he had invoked Agwe, the UN troops would have come by sea. The lwa Guinea will not for long serve those who harm the Children of Guinea.

<<"As Bergen county residents, we regard this as laughable," Rev. Anderson says seriously. "But remember, they defeated Napoleon's navy with mere sticks and stones. France's navy was one of the strongest in the world at that time. There's just no other way to explain it than the spirit world's
involvement.">>

Ah HAH! I toldja so, I toldja so!

Okay, so "the spirits" wanted Africans in Haiti to be free. God wanted them to be slaves. Mighty powerful, those spirits. Why don't they assume that God, not Satan, was on the side of liberation?

<<most people don't realise these basic facts about very christian American democracy.

FACT 1: 60 years after the successful Haitian Freedom proclamation (1803),slavery was still thriving in Christian America.

FACT 2: for hundreds of years during slavery and a hundred years afterwards, American Christian families stood hand in hand, cold-faced, singing John Newton's "How sweet the name of Jesus" while watching innocent (black) men, women, children being lynched.>>

This is what I am talking about - the evangelical right has never even acknowledged the magnitude of their offenses, much less repudiated them.

<<People, please save your prayers. Haiti does not need them. What she needs is for you to make sure your tax money is no longer used to murder Haitians via FRAPH and other monstruous CIA creations...>>

Amen! That would do a lot more good than screaming hellfire at Vodouisants!

Peace and love,
