#982: PSA for Sat. demo in front of Dominican Consulate in NY (fwd)

From:Karioka9@cs.com

NO TO ANOTHER ANTI-HAITIAN POGROM IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

A dangerous situation, not unlike the anti-Haitian pogrom of 1937, is
unfolding in the Dominican Republic. Thousands of Haitian immigrants and
Dominican blacks are being deported to Haiti, without regard for their basic
human rights. Hundreds of children are being forcefully separated from their
parents. People are being rounded up by the truckload on the basis of their
skin color and driven to the border at gun point.

On Nov. 20, in Santo Domingo, bloodthirsty Balaguer, the Dominican army, the
hierarchy of the Catholic church and other forces want a mammoth rally in
Santo Domingo to "stop the Haitian Invasion."

On Nov. 20, in New York City, the call is out for Haitians, Dominicans and
people of conscience to make a human wall in front of the Dominican Consulate
in Times Square, to say NO to the racist mass deportation of Haitian migrant
workers, and to the persecution of people on the basis of race, religion and
national origin. Come bear witness on that day for jjustice, dignity, human
rights and solidarity among peoples.

MASS DEMONSTRATION:
Saturday, Nov. 20, at 11:00 a.m.
Dominican Consulate in Times Square
(Broadway at 43rd St. Trains 1, 2, 3, 7, A, E, N, R)

Fernandez, Balaguer, the World is watching!
Stop the racist deportations!
