i am in agreement with Morse. Haiti should not be labled the "poorest nation"
but, rather the most impovrished nation in the emisphere by french, british,
german, spanish colinialism as well as by american imperialism.

impovrished because Haiti is a country that was very profitable to all the
colonial powers which raped its resources, the natives and the Africans who
were enslaved by by them. in addition to that. since the u.s. invasion (1915
- 1934) and occupation of Haiti, things have only getten worse.

now, 5 years after the secon u.s. intervention, supposedly to "restore"
democracy, what we've seen is a continuatiion of u.s. domination and total
cahos. this new u.s. intervention in Haiti is simply a repetion of what had
happened in the early part of this century: the creation of a new corropt
elite, this time the Lavalas regime to replace another the Duvalier and the
military thugs which they have created and supported for a long time now no
longer accepted by the hatian people (all of this at the service and in the
interest of u.s. imperialism),

even though the u.s. may have been unhappy with the backwardness of the
regime that it has supported in the past and this present regime. the u.s. is
satisfied as long as they continue to be subserviant.

i only hope that history does not repeat itself in the sense that another
fachistic regime does not grow out of this cahos. that was the case in the
1940's which gave us the 1950's '70's 80's and early 1990's.

now what we have in Haiti is total cahos. it always start out this way and
they will emerge anothe right wing dictator supported by washington.

the only way to avoid that is to remobilize the haitian masses: youth, the
peasant, professionals, the working class. those intellectual wha have not
given up yet and those outside of Haiti. this can be done through an effort
to regain national sovereignty.

mobilize all the political forces
organize a popular army and police
seek emergency economic aid from contries other than the u.s.
mobilize international support in general (no military intervention)
mobilize all economic force.
all foreign troups should be out.
create immediatly a "gouvernement d'urgence" which would deal with the
immediat needs of the country and its people (this government should ignore
any pressure coming from the u.s and others calling for immediate elections.
elections could be held several year, if necessary when/if necessary in order
to stabilize the economic and political situation.

previous and future elections under the dictates of u.s. imperialism will not
help, but only worsen the situation.

then and only then, haitians will be able to decide for themselves and make
the decisions which will help it come out of the impovrishment. the haitian
people many times have proven to be determined to change its situation. but
every time some foreign power who claim to know what's good for Haiti spoil
everything.

this movement to change Haiti can only happen through struggle and
determination. no matter how many millions or billions the u.s. and others
spend in Haiti as long as haitians dont have control of their destiny change
in the interest of Haiti and the haitian massess will never happen.

IT IS TIME FOR ALL CONCERNED HAITIANS TO COME TOGETHER AND BUILD A TRULY
PATRIOTIC FRONT AND PRAN DESTINE PEYI NOU NAN PWOP MEN PA NOU.

LI LE, LI TAN POU NOU SISPANN AJI TANKOU ESPEKTATE, EPI POU NOU SISPANN KWE
KE NOU PA KA FE AYEN SAN ENPERYALIS AMERIKEN AN. GEN ANPIL BAGAY NOU KA FE
POU TET NOU, E NOU KA TOUJOU JWEN KOLABORASYON LOT PEP, LOT PEYI.

TOUT LAJAN MERIKEN BAY YO, NOU KA WE YO PA REGLE ANYEN POU PEYI A. KI DONK
PWOBLEM LAN SE PA LAJAN. SE LIDESHIP, OGANIZASYON , DETEMINASYON AK YON
LESPRI LIT. RES YO AP VINI APATI DE LA.

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION ? ANYONE.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNWO.
