Haiti Reborn Project Development Coordinator Sought

Position: The Quixote Center is seeking a development coordinator for
its Haiti Reborn project. Haiti Reborn works to build grassroots support

in North America for projects in Haiti, while at the same time raising
awareness about the current social, economic and political situation in
Haiti. We work to build coalitions with other organizations doing Haiti
solidarity work. We raise funds for community-based and grassroots
development work in Haiti, specifically reforestation initiatives and
popular education programs. Position also includes an active role in the

Quixote Center collective on track to becoming a co-director.

Duties:
- Coordination of direct mail fundraising
- Identify and cultivate foundation support
- Coordination of telephone fundraising
- Establishment of a large donor strategy
- Maintenance of website
- Assist in coordination of Haiti Solidarity Week, an annual
international event
- Promotion of the Haiti Reborn program and shared responsibility for
the overall work of the Quixote Center

Qualifications:
- Fundraising experience required
- Persuasive written and verbal communication skills
- PC literacy; desktop publishing skills a plus
- Highly motivated self-starter with close attention to detail
- Ability to work in a collective and meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm for the overall work of the Quixote Center

Commitment: Two years. Applicant’s potential for long-term commitment to

the Quixote Center will be considered.
Salary/Benefits: $27,500/year plus excellent benefits including four
weeks vacation, employer-paid health insurance, retirement plan, child
care allowance.
Target for Start: August or September, 2000
