8272: Re: 8270: To the Haitian Community in your area (fwd)

<< To the Haitian Community in your area
With an Aim of justifying the Haitian community in
your area to give a cultural existence, >>

Ummmm... no disrespect, but the Haitian community of greater Boston has a
very strong cultural existance already, and doesn't need anyone to "justify"
it.

<<The Jew cultivates his children as a Jew, the Italian cultivates his
Italian children, the Cuban, Portoricain, Jamaican all cultivate their
countries. And why Haitian doesn't cultivate Haïtianisme >>

"The Jew"? "The Italian"? As though there were only one of each, or as if
all Jews think alike?

Look - children born in this country are Americans, not Haitians, their
experiences are different than they would have been if the child were born
and raised in Haiti. That's no surprise.

More to the point, Senou, I find your approach a bit... well, dated.
Self-empowerment is not about constantly being a victim, it's about finding
ways to solve problems.

Peace and love,
