Members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force while on patrol in Nassau
Harbour, Saturday apprehended 14 Haitian immigrants in two separate
incidents. At about 5:30 a.m. while on a routine patrol, a 40-foot wooden
sloop called "Pauline" was spotted.

A search of the vessel by the boarding team uncovered seven male immigrants
on board under the command of Leading Seaman Clyde Burrows. It was revealed
that they did not possess the necessary documents to enter the country and
as a result they were turned over to Immigration authorities for processing.

Later that evening at about 7:45 p.m. the Defence Force Patrol unit spotted
and boarded a 54-foot wooden sloop called "God is Good." After an
investigation was performed seven females were discovered on board. They to
did not have the necessary documents to enter the country and were turned
over to Immigration officials.
