• Krauss' especially influencial and important essay, "The Demolished Literature" may be found in the this volumeThe Vienna Coffeehouse Wits 1890 - 1938   This may be found on pages 65-85. It was written in 1897, the same year the important coffee house of Jung Wien was demolished, the Griensteidl. Krauss took the essay to be the parallel demolishing of the literary movement as well. After writing a scathing critique of their literature and smirking at the demise of their central meeting place, Cafe Grienstiedl, his final sentence is: "Where is our young literature heading now? And what is its future Grienstiedl?"
