1910 – U. S. Federal Census taken 19 April 1910– lists a Michael Schamatoria as head of household and residing and renting at 1414 N. Seventh St., St. Louis, Missouri. (Note the double error, misspelling of last name, and it was Giuseppe/Joseph as head of household not Michael). They state that he immigrated in 1901 and she in 1902. They state also that they were married 20 yrs. Sarah is the mother of 9 children, all living.
All other family members were listed correctly. Children can read and write, parents answered no for both. To the question of language; Italian (not English) and as for employment; “working on their own account” not employed by another.
1914 – 15 February 1914 – per St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church records – marriage of son Mercurio Ciaramitaro to Mary Gilardi, daughter of Rose and the late Bartolo Gilardi
1915 – 14 February 1915– per St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church records - marriage of daughter Rose Ciaramitaro to Sam Parisi, son of Pietro and Castanzia Parisi
1916 – 20 October 1916 – Declaration of Intention for Citizenship submitted by son Giuseppe, 24 yrs old, an unmarried peddler, living at 1414 N. Seventh St.
1917 – 18 May 1917 - Selective Service Act passed – Authorizing the President to increase temporarily the military establishment of the United States - Under this Act registration was required for all men residing in the U. S. between the ages of 18 and 45, whether native born, naturalized, or alien.

1920 – U. S. Federal Census taken on 9 January 1920 - lists a naturalized citizen named Joseph Sharamataro, a 60 year old fruit peddler, who own the home at 1414 N. Seventh St., St. Louis, MO.
Also listed at 1414 N. Seventh Street (Second Floor) was the family of Mike and Mary Sharamataro (eldest son of Joseph and Sarah)
1922 – 22 July 1922 – per Civil Records at St. Louis County Courthouse – marriage of son, Charles Regina to Grace Sharamitaro, daughter of Pietro and Eulalia Ciaramitaro
1922 – 22 Oct 1922 – per St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church records – marriage in church of son, Salvatore Ciaramitaro to Gracia Ciaramitaro daughter of Pietro and Eulalia Ciaramitaro
1923 – The 1923 St. Louis Street Directory (Red & Blue Book) – Lists a Mrs. Laura Bommarito living at 1421 N. Seventh Street. In addition it lists; a Jos (Sarah) Sharamitaro living at 1414 N. Seventh St., and a Saml (Lena) Bommarito living at 1418a N. Seventh St.
1928 – May 1928 - Death of son John Ciaramitaro (who took the name of John Regina) killed in Kansas City, Missouri
1929 – 8 September 1929 – per St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church records – marriage of daughter, Fara Ciaramitaro to John J. Vitale son of Giuseppe and Maria Vitale. Including a notation that they were also married by the Court on 28 July 1929.
1929 – 24 October 1929 - Stock Market Crash - Beginning of the Great Depression
1930 – U.S. Federal Census – taken on 4 April 1930 – listed is a Joseph Sharamitaro, who owns the home 1414 N. Seventh St., St. Louis, Missouri value=$4000. The couple were age 23 and 19 when first married.
Listed also - living at 1414 N. Seventh St., St. Louis, Missouri (and renting- $17/mon) is their daughter Fara “Fanny” and her husband John Vitale.
1931 – 19 April 1931 – per St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church records – marriage of son, James J Ciaramitaro to Katerina Ciaramitaro daughter of Pietro and Eulalia Ciaramitaro
1940 – U.S. Federal Census – taken on 9 April 1940 – listed is a Joseph Shammarito who is renting ($12/mon) at 1414 N. Seventh Street, Ward 4, St. Louis City, Missouri :
Joseph (Giuseppe) indicates that he is unable to work, but does not receive Social Security.
1941 – 6 December, 1941 - Japan attacks Pearl Harbor – America Declares War on Japan, Germany and Italy !!
1942 – 16 February 1942 - Giuseppe and Rosaria were re-processed by the Alien Registration Division and a copy of their paperwork was filed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Office in St. Louis, MO. Their photos were taken, their right index fingerprints were taken. Their place of birth, birthdates and birthplace (Terrasini, Sicily) were listed.
Because they could neither read nor write, their son James (see photo above) accompanied them and signed as their witness. Also noted on the form was the misspelling of their last name; as Ciramaitaro.
1951 - 10 July 1951 – Death of Giuseppe Ciaramitaro at age 88, still residing at 1414 N. Seventh St., St. Louis, MO.
1957 – 11 march 1957 – Death of Rosaria Ciaramitaro, widow of Giuseppe, at age 78, residing at 3725 Avondale, St. Louis, Missouri. Calvary Cemetery records state:
