The Timothy Cleary Family listed on the passenger list below (and mispelled as Clary) is connected to the Ryan Family of Immigrants through two marriages; the first in 1850 when Catherine Cleary married Patrick Ryan, the second in 1856 when Redmond Cleary married Alice Ryan. Both marriages took place in St. Louis, Missouri
Timothy and Mary Mansfield Cleary married and lived on the Cleary family farm in Mullinahone, Tipperary Ireland. They raised ten children there before Timothy died suddenly. Nine of these children immigrated to America in 1850 with their mother, Mary 52: Catherine 30, Michel 28, Johannah 24, Ellen 19, Redmond 21, Mary Anne 17, Margaret 13, Bridget 11 and John 9 (see passenger list below).
Their ship, the Francis, arrived New Orleans, Louisiana from Liverpool, England on 22 April 1850.
