1886 – 6 Sept 1886 – Birth of Frederick C. Pahl to Wilhelm and Catherine Pahl, in St. Louis, Missouri

1888 – 25 April 1888 – Complaint filed in the second district police court of the City of St. Louis “Christian Pahl and Henry Pahl of Pahl Bros” Violation of an ordinance of said city . The City of St. Louis in April of 1887 passed a law outlawing brick kilns in the city. This law made the Pahl Brothers Brick Co out of compliance with an order of the St. Louis City Health Commissioner.

1889 – 15 Feb 1889 -Birth of Christian Pahl Jr. to Christian and Emilie Pahl in St. Louis, Missouri

1890 – The U.S. Federal Census was taken, tabulated by machine for the first time, but destroyed in a 1921 Washington DC fire.

1890 – The St. Louis City Directory lists a business called Christian Pahl & Co. on Russell & Jefferson Avenues, St. Louis, Missouri. Henry Pahl was listed as employee. The Christian Pahl family resided at 1917 Russell Avenue.

1891 – 28 March 1891 – Death of Emilie Cornelia Weinheimer at only 36 years old, at City Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Residence listed as 2817 Nebraska, St. Louis, Mo.

1893 – 6 Feb 1893 – Final decision by the Missouri Supreme Court in the matter of the City of St. Louis vs Christian Pahl and Henry Pahl (firm name C Pahl & Bro). They found against the Pahl brothers. It was noted in the record that they were fined $20.

1893 – The St. Louis City Directory lists a Christian Pahl, saloon, 2201 DeKalb and 2800 Gravois Ave.

1895 – 19 January 1895 - Death of Henry Pahl, of gall stones. His widow Barbara is listed in City Directory as widow of Henry, she is still residing at 1916 Russell.

1896 – October 1896 – Multiple St. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper articles listed Ward Meetings at Local Meeting Halls. Pahl’s Hall at Old Manchester Rd and Dalton Ave was listed for 27th Ward Meetings of the Workingmen’s Bryan Club.

1897 – 5 May 1897 – Article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch carried this heading: “Wrecked with Dynamite Bombs”. Three Subheadings state:

Within the article are several quotes. “When seen by the mounted police Christian Pahl said “a year ago my wife left me and sued for divorce”. This article also stated that Pahl suspected that his (second) wife Josephine was the cause of the wreck. Mrs. Josephine Pahl was also quoted and reported her reasons for the dissolution of the marriage. Later in the article it states that Mrs. Josephine Pahl conducts a saloon at Gravois and Sydney Street, and further on it states that Mrs. Josephine Pahl also conducts a saloon at the northeast corner of Gravois and Jefferson Aves. Note: I found no record thus far of either their marriage or divorce.

1898 – 24 March 1898 – Death of Barbara Pahl, widow of the late Henry Pahl, buried in St. Paul Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri.

1898 – 16 Sept 1898 - Death of Wilhelm Pahl, originally buried in St. Paul’s Cemetery, moved to Valhalla Cemetery by Donnelly Funeral Home on 18 Jan 1921.

1899 – The St. Louis City Directory lists a Christian Pahl, 5371 Arsenal St.

1900 – U.S. Federal Census lists a Christian Pahl, 50 yrs, a widower, renting a home at 5366 Arsenal Ave, St. Louis, Missouri:

1902 - Christian and the four children move to a house at 5801 Old Manchester Road, St. Louis, Missouri

1904 – Opening of the St. Louis World Fair

1904 – Louis and Arthur Pahl operate the Pahl Brother’s Grocery on the first floor of their residence 5801 Old Manchester Road (now called Southwest Avenue) at Dalton St., St. Louis, Missouri.

1904 – 8 June 1904 Marriage of Arthur Emile Pahl to Anna Roles in St. Louis, Missouri

1908 – 26 March 1908 - Death of Catherine “Kate” Grob Pahl, widow of William Pahl, and daughter of Heinrich Wilhelm and Mathilda Meisner Grob. She was originally buried at St. Paul’s Cemetery with her husband, but on 18 Jan 1921 both were moved to Valhalla Cemetery, St. Louis County Missouri.

1909 – 21 Apr 1909 - Marriage of son, Louis Pahl to Marie Paeben in St. Louis, Missouri

1910 – U.S. Federal Census lists a Christian Pahl 60 yrs as head of household, living and working as an attendant at the State Infirmary at 5800 Arsenal Street.

1910 – U.S. Federal Census lists an August Pahl 64 yrs renting at 2718 Shenandoah, living with their daughter’s family, William and Bertha Wulf

1916 – 12 January 1916 - Death of Christian Pahl Sr at 66 yrs old, buried at St. Paul Churchyard Cemetery.

1917 – 18 May 1917 - Selective Service Act passed – Authorizing the president Woodrow Wilson to increase temporarily the military establishment of the United States. Under this Act, registration was required for all men residing in the U. S., whether native born, naturalized, or alien – between the ages of 18 and 45.

1917– 5 June 1917 – WWI Registration Cards for the Pahl Family:
