Year of immigration; 1849, Edward is naturalized and can read, write and speak English.

1905 – Per Missouri Death Certificate dated 4 July 1915 – Edward J “Ned” Ryan, retired 10 years ago as a horseshoer. Note per Marge Burns Wilhauk: “Grampa Edward “Ned” Ryan rode what was called a “breaking wagon”. She said that was where horses that couldn’t race anymore were tested for wagon pulling. The informant for the death certificate was Harry Ryan, son of Edward J and the late Maria Ryan.
