The development of Modern Conflict Resolution
can be traced to the founding of the Journal of
Conflict Resolution at the University of Michigan
in 1957.
At the same time, Dag Hammarskj–ld and Lester
Pearson were defining the basic principles of
peacekeeping in order to guide the work of the
United Nations Emergency Force created in
response to the Suez Crisis in 1956.
