******on paper, Haiti is a Republic, like the US............"democracy"
relates to the ability of the population to participate and have their voice
heard........it is not a question of where "democracy" comes
from..........it matters not from where the idea of open political parties
that can elect government officials comes from, but rather that there are
legitimate ways of participating that are respected by all..........a
functioning and fair legal system is a absolute fundamental.........without
it, anarchy always lurks in the shadows..........
education, health care and employment are social goals, and can be achieved
under many types of governments......look at Cuba, which is
Marxist..........a country can be a Republic with democratic institutions
and still have poor health care, unemployment and an erratic educational
system...........
