I'm happy to read Julie Hoover found "enthusiasm for Aristede's presidency"
on her visit, not the lack (of enthusiasm) which I encountered and reported.
The Haitians I spoke with were generally middle class as well, in PAP and
Jacmel. Let's hope Julie's report is more representative!
I also found, as Julie did, people more in the professional or managerial
ranks were distinctly negative.
