When I too was a teacher in Union School (on Boulevard Harry Truman in
those
days, 1967-68), I remember a discussion taking place in the schoolyard
among
some white foreign-born children and light-skinned upper-class Haitian
children
about 8-9 years old... They all agreed they were supposed to cover their
mouths
when they sneezed, okay. But some of them said you didn't have to cover
your
mouth when you sneezed in front of "Haitians." I don't remember if they
reached
consensus...
