13156: Edouard to Dorce - Final Response (fwd)
From: Felix Edouard <loveayiti@hotmail.com>
Dorce
“if Nadal hadn't advocated removal of Aristide”...
Again you have proven my point and this is the primary problem that exist in
Haiti today. "You are either for me or against me"
Anyone who criticizes the government is automatically branded a coup
supporter, a macoute, a duvalierist or right winger. 10 years ago under the
military you were automatically labeled a Lavalas. This may be convenient
for Aristide apologist and a way to sway the masses in his direction but far
from the truth. Do we have any concept of what democracy is? Have we been
so corrupted for 200 years that we can't change and accept that tolerance is
what a "true" democracy is all about? I haven't given hope. yet...
I am not here to defend Nadal. I am sure he is more the capable of speaking
for himself. I will say I found no evidence that he advocated the violent
overthrow of any government. Do you find anything wrong with the statement
he made in 1999 after he was attacked by government supporters (see below)?
I don't.
You have to forgive me, I have been in the United States along time and I
have been corrupted. I believe that everyone has(or should have had) the
right to express their views including Antoine Izmery, Guy Malary, Fr.
Vincent, Jean Dominique, Lindor, Claude Raymond,Mireille Durocher Bertin,
etc.
