Although this is not a formal reply to Frederick's piece, I would like to
point
out:

1) I talked about the CITIZENSHIP of the Free People of Color who fought
under Comte d'Estaing at Savannah.

2) You stated: " ... by the time French helped the US revolutionaries it
had abolished slavery .."  The French 'Convention Nationale' abolished
slavery in February 1794.
