  ADDRESS BY U.S. Delegation
OAS PERMANENT COUNCIL MEETING- HAITI SITUATION
 Washington, DC >>

This is a very ominous aritcle. If one reads it with no other knowledge of
Haitian affairs, one would believe in US intervention right now. They would
see a dictator at the helm who must be stopped. They would see a man who
hasn't made one concession to the international community when in fact he has
made WAY too many. This entire address is arrogant and imposes foreign
control of a sovereign nation. This entire address does not mention any
misdeeds except those they attribute to the government and those supporting
the government. It makes it sound as though the people have Aristide's boot
on their necks. This inability or unwillingness to make a balanced report
makes the entire report bogus and worthless. How more and more difficult it
is for me to feel those patriotic feelings for my once beloved country, the
United States of America.
