14558: Wolf: words from a friend in okap (fwd)

From: casey wolf <caseyjwolf@yahoo.ca>

One thing I can say is that things keep going up here
a lot! It is scarey. I don't know what these poor
poor people do for food, because every week things go
up. Eggs are up to $15H a carton here. Fuel has
doubled, as I'm sure you've heard. Yes, there has
been a lot of political upheaval. The kids have miss
about 2 weeks of school in the past couple of months.
We were supposed to have a lot of demonstations this
week, but we have had torrential rains, so they didn't
happen. I think it was yesterday that Radio Maxima
here in Mombin Lataille was burned down. I think
they have been voicing opinions of the opposition.
Scarey, huh? We heard a lot of shooting in our
neighborhood the night before last, pretty close. It
went on for about 15 minutes, back and forth, but the
next morning, nobody could say what it was all about.
Anyway, everybody is on edge and expecting that
something is going to happen. They are saying Feb. 7
will be a day of demonstations with the goal of
getting Aristide out. I feel sad about the whole
thing. Its hard to know what is the best thing, but
we are all praying that God will help all the leaders
to decide to work together and stop fighting and that
they'd have wisdom to lead the country.
