14886: Hugo: Review of Fatton's book
From: Hugues St.Fort <Hugo274@aol.com>
The last issue of "The New York Review of Books", volume L, Number 4,
March 13,
2003 features a very interesting review of the book: "Haiti's Predatory
Republic: The Unending Transition to Democracy", written by Haitian-born
Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia,
Robert Fatton. It's a comprehensive review article in two parts (this one
is
the first part) titled :Haiti: The Fall of the House of Aristide. The
author is
Peter Dailey, presented by NYR as a New York attorney and writer who has
worked
for much of the Nineties on Haitian human rights and political cases. A
few
months ago, Bob Corbett wrote on this list an excellent review of
Professor
Fatton's book.
