Haitian music awards scheduled

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dorrin D. Rolle will join the Haitian
Awareness & Cultural Foundation and professional musicians at 5 p.m. Monday
in the lobby of Miami Inter Design II, 4141 NE Second Ave., to kick off the
seventh annual Haitian Music and Entertainment Awards.

Organizers bill the event as the only one dedicated to rewarding,
celebrating and honoring Haitian and Creole musicians, their heritage and
their culture.

The HME Awards will take place at the James L. Knight Center in downtown
Miami at 7 p.m. Saturday.
