this is so sad and one of the biggest problems facing not only haiti but
the
entire developing world.  would the IDB really suffer if it simply forgave
haiti's debt?  marx was absolutely right about a few things, like
capitalism
destroying the world and about history being understandable in terms of
class
struggles... only now the class struggle is playing out into a north-south
rift.

if withholding aid to haiti is really about "flawed elections", perhaps
the US
should annul haiti's debt because of its own equally flawed elections.
