How utterly paternalistic is that !
Where do the EU and the OAS get off demanding that Haiti clear its decisions
on, for one example, police leadership with them?  Do Europeans not understand
that Haiti's quagmire is largely the lingering effect of the era when they
enslaved Africans, brutalized them, and forced them to cut sugar cane to profit
European metropoles?
An even greater slap in the face of the dignity is the list of signatories to
this appalling letter: Turkey?!?! Romania?!?!?! now there are two models of
justice and democracy !!!
I fully realize that Haiti's leadership (political, economic AND spiritual)
shares some of the blame for the country's misery... but when will Haiti ever
get an honest, no-strings-attached break from these condescending geopolitical
brutes?
