Library to feature display
of Haitian artists' works
The paintings of contemporary Haitian artists living outside of Haiti will
be on display at the Broward County Main Library from Saturday through Dec.
31.
"A New Era: Haitian Art in the Diaspora" features artists in a similarly
titled new book, which discusses Haitians artist living abroad. Renowned
Haitian art historian Michel-Philippe Lerebours will lecture at the opening
reception at 7 p.m. Saturday. Lerebours, who wrote an introduction to the
book, is director of the Museum of Haitian Art at College Saint-Pierre in
Port-au-Prince.
The main library is at 100 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale. For more
