Precisely, the operative words are: In or previously in a position of
authority. Unless the Lavalas government is willing to admit that members of
the Front (Cannibal Army) were part of the authority, then I would agreed with
the term coup. Also, prior to the armed rebellion in Gonaives, the government
has used the word Coup in reference to the Port-au-Prince opposition.
