19443: Onlythetrue; No More Coups (fwd)
From: Onlythetrue@aol.com
The Bush administration has been making efforts to bring the two sides
together. Which two sides? FRAPH and the opposition (who are one in the same), who
have backing of United States, whose sole aim is the removal of a
constitutional government? They have no interest in seeing Aristide and the Opposition
come to an agreement.
The rest of the world will not recognize a coup. This President was elected
until 2006; he has to serve his term. Does the Baby Bush administration have
doubts about their ability to be reelected? Do they think now is the time to do
away with Aristide, thinking all the black people are like the two he has in
his administration? I think not. Look at the Back Caucus, who understands the
principals of democracy. They cannot let United States hijack the
Democratically elected President. The only choice Aristide has is to stay. There is no
coup d'etat without bloodshed. I tell you when the rebels come to Port-au-Prince
it is going to be a different story The US will be responsible for the blood
shed (but as always, they will not accept responsibility).
''We're interested in achieving a political settlement,'' President Bush said
during an Oval Office photo session with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
A senior State Department official said that the administration is not
calling for Aristide's resignation. He added that the administration was still
hopeful that Aristide and his opponents can work out a deal. The official said
arrangements could be made for the United States to ensure Aristide's safe
departure if he chooses to step down.
Aristide is doing the right thing standing fast. Aristide thinks about the
country, the poor people, first. He has been push push pushed by the US now
France and Canada who want to patch up their difference with United States over
Iraq at the expense of the duly elected democratic President and the people who
voted for him. Selfish motives every where, Where does this French
Johnny-come-lately come from? There is no junta in Haiti. Looks like the United States
would like to have the military back in power. Just look at this group of
operatives who have killed 5000 Haitians during the coup years...oh yes peasants;
they are nobody so they can continue to destabilize the country some more.
NO more Coups! This is a new century. One can only be pushed so far; at
some point one has to take a stand. Let the people of Haiti live in peace,
United States release the money and let Aristide serve until 2006.
