Despite telephone lines from two central offices in NYC, and attempts
using different long distance carriers, I was unable to get a circuit
until this morning.  A friend reports that most people in P'ville are
staying home and many businesses are closed.  She said their are reports
of looting and burning businesses from downtown which she will follow-up
and report on as soon as possible.
