20495: Mason Re 20493 Goodman Re 20464 radtimes Return Aristide to Haiti (fwd)

From: MariLinc@aol.com

Brian Goodman (bdgoody2002@yahoo.com) wrote:

"... This was agreat site where you could get information and news on
Haiti...BUT now it has turned into an anti-Amercian thug-fest. Very few articles are
worth reading ..."

I disagree. There are plenty of AP and BBC and Reuters and CNN and FoxNews et
al. postings to layer between the radtimes and Esser and Kakadyab et al.
postings to serve as legitimate ingredients to the Corbett List lasagna recipe.

They all serve as reference points. And it's up to us to know enough about
Haiti to be able to discern truth from garbage.

Goodman also writes:

"Haitians for years have cried for the US to get Titid out and now that he
has left..suddenly the Haitians are crying that we helped getting him out."

My response?

Which Haitians cried for the US to get Titid out? And which Haitians are
crying because the US helped to get him out?

Therein lies the dilemma. Therein lies the obscenity. Therein lies the
injustice. Therein lies the cynicism.

Haitian Society is not monolithic, any more than American Society is.

In Haiti "the opposition" which cried out for this foreign intervention was a
much smaller percentage of the over-all population than those who were
signalling with their hands "5 years".
