20604: Esser: Re: 20544: intervision2000: Steve Forbes on a fix for Haiti's woes (fwd)

From: D. Esser torx@joimail.com

So Steve Forbes has the remedy for Haiti's troubles? Steve Forbes is
the President and CEO of Forbes, Inc. A champion of the poor? Steve
Forbes ran for President of the United States in 1996 and 2000 and
has never shown himself as a fighter for economic justice or a more
equal society. The U.S. dollar should be legal tender in Haiti? Who
would benefit most from that? Guessed -- the U.S. and the moneyed
classes? Right. Just look at the economic situation in Ecuador and
see if the lot of the poor has improved since the move to the U.S.
currency. Steve Forbes coming to the help of Haiti's wealthy? Very
touching indeed!

Intervision 2000, quoting Steve Forbes:

To prevent politicians from plundering people via inflation, Haiti
should
make the U.S. dollar its legal tender, as several other countries, such
as
Panama, Ecuador and El Salvador, have done.
