20672: Marassa: pwens and misreadings and "Salade Latortue" (fwd)

Judge has sustained objection. Marassa must rephrase.

One of interesting issue in Haiti culture is sending of "pwen". when a
statement becomes a pwen is no always in control of people making statement.
how statement is read or interpret no always match what people trying to
say.  this happen to us recently, believe or not.

example: Latortue calls rebels in Gonaive "freedom fighters". How do non
freedom fighters read this statement? Is this a threat statement by Latortue
that all Lavalas should run hide? Or Is Latortue sending a "strong" message
to int'l community since David Lee one of attending physicians? Is he
meaning to make bastard rebel army legitmate like? Did he intending to send
a message to a group or single personage? Or did he gets caught up in
excitement and it get away from him? (after all, his hometown) or are
peoples reading far, far, far too much into it? was Latortue voye pwen?

Marassa tried to clarify a statement that was very much mis-read and
mis-interpret in a way that Marassa no expect. nou saisi, woy!! a fish jump
in our boat and we no even trying to catch one. Clarification was no posted
by Boss Bob. we disagree with this but Bob is the Boss. his list. he can
censor jan li vle.

ambiguity is at heart of Haitian culture. so Marassa ask again without
naming names: Is the "salade Latortue" a happy outcome for salad makers? we
think the people buying the salad are not happy. We think they gonna fire
the salad makers.

Now, how people on list wish to interpret this last statement is entirely up
to them and completement out of our control. when we say "fire" do we mean
firing squad or is this cryptic allusion to burning tires? or does it mean
they going to dis-employ them only? maybe dis-employ but by "firing"...ah,
now you seeing our problem.

is Marassa lwa je rouj? or lwa achte? or lwa Ginen?
