Apredemen is set in Haiti in 1995. The drama is centered around the friendship
of a veteran, American war correspondent and a young, Haitian hotel manager.
Through their evolving relationship, issues of war, peace and the universal
role of women come to light. The film was written and directed by Lynn Currier
with scenes on location in Haiti and in Boston. Lynn Currier will be available
to speak about Apredemen and two other prominent leaders in the Haitian
community, Dr. Marc Prou and Charlot Lucien will address the nature of the
Haitian struggle for social and economic democracy in Haiti. They will address
the role of education and the ability of the Haitian people to working
positively together to construct parameters for development and authentic
change.

Dr. Prou is Assistant Professor of Caribbean Studies in the Africana Studies at
the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He is currently Executive Director of
the Haitian Studies Association (HSA), a scholarly organization that has an

Health, Founder and Co-director of the Haitian Artist Assembly, Media
