From: "Walton, Robert" <robert.walton3@us.army.mil>

To Tom Reeves who wrote, "A slum is not made by those who live in it,..."

I disagree.

To live like a pig among trash and garbage, one does not have to be poor,
only too lazy to spend the effort it takes to clean one's surroundings. "If
you have access to a shovel, you can begin by burying the sh-t in your own
yard or dig a drainage ditch, or collect and burn trash, or.... If
neighbors join the effort, though they remain poor, they will not need to
live like pigs. People make slums.. and can un-make them.

To Tom, who further wrote, "Nothing will redeem this situation short of a
leveling, short of taking from the rich what they have stolen from the
poor."

What has been stolen should certainly be returned ... Taken by the state for
redistribution, perhaps?.. Or simply taken? But if by "leveling," you
mean confiscating the wealth of those who have fairly earned it you propose
state-sponsored thievery and you would replace enterprise with sloth.
