Thank you too, Anonymous. Your posting sounds so completely authentic and
heartfelt that it resonates deeply for me... and I hope for other
thousands of people on the Corbett List, who unfortunately will not know
who you are, for your own protection. Thank you for taking the time to
describe your uniquely personal experience. I value it, and hope that you
and your friend can persist in caring for and cherishing each other in
spite of the pressures against the relationship. You are doing a difficult
work of finding what is deep and real and human in each other through the
myriad nuances of very different cultures.  We are not all destined to be
dominated by our cultural conditioning, after all.
