   PORT-AU-PRINCE, June 28 (AP) -- The 16-month-old granddaughter of
interim President Boniface Alexandre drowned in a bathtub at the
presidential palace on Monday, officials said.
   Paul Magloire, an adviser to interim Prime Minister Gerard Latortue,
confirmed that Charlotte Alexandre died while playing in the tub, but
provided no further details.
   The infant's father, Jean Bonuy Alexandre, one of the president's four
children, lives in France and was visiting his father, palace spokesman
Maxime Bellerice said.
   Boniface Alexandre became Haiti's interim president after President
Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ousted Feb. 29 in an armed uprising.
