22949: Re: 22944: (Hermantin)Sunsentinel-Miami court

It is remarkably revealing that the DEA is going after Lavalas drug barons
so
aggressively while never lifting a finger to even investigate and
Neo-Duvalierists who both established and enriched
themselves quite abundantly from the cocaine trade in the early 1990s.
The
symbolism of the US State Department renting Cedras' houses that were
built off
of that trade likewise speaks volumes. The whole trade was established by
the
Cedras regime and simply inherited by the Aristide folks. It emerges ever
more
clearly that for the last 14 years US policy vis-a-vis Haiti has been
driven chiefly by concerns to limit Aristide's power as much as possible
and to
keep Haitian refugees at bay. Oh, and now to harness the cocaine trade.
