In fact, Aristide did not make Vodou the official State religion.
Rather, he gave Vodou the official status of a religion with the same
rights and more importantly to me the same responsibilities as any
other religion.  It seems a logical thing to do, especially the latter.
  At least this way there is theoretically some accountability.
