Two Haitian-American brothers who bought WAVS, AM 1170 nine months ago, may
soon be the owners of a second Caribbean station in Broward County.

Emmanuel and Jean Cherubin, of Niche Radio Inc. in Miami, have a tentative
contract with ICBC Broadcast Holdings Inc. of New York to purchase Mystik
WSRF, AM 1580 for $1.75 million, according to Anthony Lepore, an attorney
involved in the case.

ICBC is the parent company of Urban Radio Florida LLC, which holds the
station license.

Lepore represents Gallery Broadcasting Inc., a 10 percent owner of Urban
Radio. He said the news caught his client by surprise Wednesday. Gallery has
the right of first refusal on any deal for the next 20 days.

"They're going to take the 20 days that they have now and evaluate the
proposal proposed by Niche and determine if they want to go forward and
match it." Lepore said.

Carl Nelson, Gallery's principal owner, is currently general manager of the
station, Lepore said. He purchased the station in 1999 with money that he
borrowed from ICBC and converted the programming to Caribbean talk and
music.
