SATURDAY 20 AUGUST

SO ANN (Annette Auguste), mother, grandmother, popular Haitian singer, community
organizer and pro-democracy activist has been unjustly imprisoned in Haiti since
10 May 2004.
She has not been formally accused of anything.
Two weeeks ago she was finally brought before a judge.  The judge told her that the "Justice"
Ministry had lost her files.  She was then returned to prison.

CROWING ROOSTER ARTS will release the new SO ANN CD:
"WHAT ELSE CAN THEY DO TO ME?"  (Sa w kwe ya fe mwen?)
at TAP TAP HAITIAN RESTAURANT on SATURDAY 20 AUGUST.

The title comes from one of the songs: "SOBO ANGODO E"

Sobo Angodo E
They can eat my flesh
But the will leave the bones
I'm asking:
What else can they do to me?
My life is in the hands of God.

Proceeds from the sale of these CDs will go to SO ANN's defense fund.

SO ANN writes to us from prison:

"I send all my love and gratitude for remaining strong in separating the lies from the
truth in Haitis current situation.  I send you all my blessings as a free Haitian
woman fighting for the rights of the impoverished majority in my homeland.

They may imprison my body, but they will never imprison the truth I know in my soul.
I will continue to fight for justice and truth in Haiti until I draw my last breath."
