29021: Benson: RE: 28948: Hermantin(news)Man With Voodoo Shrine Gets Life in Prison (fwd)

Comment, response to Hermantin 28948
The headline writer had a lot of material to use, but took the occasion of
murder to impugn Vodou. The central point of the story then becomes the
fact that the man had a Vodou shrine, rather than the murder he committed.
Did the recent media flurry over the arrest of alleged killer of the child
beauty queen mention his religion? Perhaps Hermantin is in a position to
suggest to editors that such headlines, were they about any other religious
group, would be considered inappropriate and the headline artist invited to
do a rewrite.
