It seems the original question was, who was worse, the english or the french?
No mention of the spanish or the americans or the portuguese.. It was the
french in the long view to specifically answer the original question. Also in
the long view the english became abolitionists-- there was a great
correspondence between Thomas Clarkson and Henry (yes, HenrY) Christophe. Of
course if one chooses to preach the obvious, all slavers were bad guys.
