I am more familiar with the Sud, and can say that in the area
surrounding Les Cayes and west, there are thousands of hectares that are
either not cultivated or under-cultivated....i can personally think of
about 1000 hectares just in three places in Les Cayes that i used to
look at....(flat land, by the way)

point - a good survey would show that far, far more could be done in
regards agricultural self=sufficiency than is currently being done.....
