 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Diego Serna scored on a penalty kick in
the 76th minute Wednesday night, providing the difference as the Miami
Fusion beat the Haitian national team 2-1 in an exhibition soccer
game.The penalty kick was set up after Fusion forward Welton was fouled
by Haitian defender Roosevelt Desirt inside the penalty box.After a
scoreless first half, Haiti took a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute on Frantz
Gilles' goal. Gilles received a pass from Vladimir Edouard and drilled a
12-yard shot inside the left post past goalie Garth Lagerwey. Miami tied
it four minutes later when Jay Heaps headed in Martin Machon's corner
kick.
