8240: ECO-TOURISM EXHIBITION ON THE SOUTH OF HAITI 6th June

From: PPARYSKI@aol.com

It would seem to me that an exhibition of objects, no matter how
beautiful
they may be, made from cutting down the few remaining hardwoods in Haiti,
does not qualify to be labeled ECOTOURISM. Ecotourism is rather voyaging
to
and appreciating the unique and beautiful places in the Haitian
countryside.

This does not mean that artisanat based on wood products should not be
encouraged. It simply means that this has little to do with ecotourism.
The
exhibit should also encourage the planting of trees to assure that
artisanat
can continue.
